At the nearest official weather station, in Canavieiras, the months with data count 10 to 16 days with at least 1 mm of rain. So even the wettest month has plenty of dry days in between. Autumn, March to June here in the southern hemisphere, is the wettest stretch, and September is the driest. It helps to have one plan for the morning and one for the afternoon. ## Morning: class on the deck The Espaço Leve Alma deck sits at Pousada Tikuna in the Concha neighbourhood. It is covered and open air, under the trees. The roof keeps the rain off, so class goes on. Practice comes with rain drumming overhead and the smell of wet forest around you. - **Power Vinyasa:** Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 8:00 to 9:00, and Saturday, 8:00 to 9:30. On the first Saturday of the month, class ends with a sound bath. Your breath leads a moving sequence. - **Yoga Sculpt:** Tuesday and Thursday, 9:30 to 10:30. Flowing yoga sequences with music and light hand weights. Mats, blocks and hand weights are waiting on the deck. In heavy rain, any change to the schedule goes out on WhatsApp and Instagram before class, so check your phone when you wake up. Classes take up to 10 people: [book ahead](https://espacolevealma.com.br/book/), especially for Saturday. ## A cacao afternoon on Rua Pituba Southern Bahia is cacao country, and a wet afternoon is a fine excuse to taste it. Rua Pituba (officially Rua Pedro Longo) is about ten minutes on foot from Concha and has two indoor spots that stay open all day: - **Vila Rosa Chocolate**, Rua Pedro Longo, 174 A: the town shop of a cacao farm near Taboquinhas, selling chocolate made from its own beans, plus coffee. - **Café com Cacau Pituba**, Rua Pedro Longo, 34: coffee with cacao cake, hot chocolate and açaí. The itacare.com.br guide lists both as open daily, 9:00 to 22:00 (checked October 2026). Hours change, so confirm before you head out. ## Visit a cacao farm If the rain settles in for the day, a cacao farm visit fills a morning or an afternoon. Part of the walk is under the forest canopy, so bring a light rain jacket and shoes that can get wet. - **Fazenda Vila Rosa**, in Taboquinhas on the Rio de Contas. Civitatis sells a 3-hour tour with hotel pickup, an English-speaking guide and a chocolate tasting. - **Fazenda Capela Velha**, near Uruçuca on the Chocolate Route. A news report from August 2026 confirms the farm welcomes visitors to see each stage, from growing cacao to making chocolate. Tour prices and times change through the year. Check with the agency or the farm directly (checked October 2026). ## Late afternoon: a massage near Concha Spa da Villa, at the Ecoporan Hotel a few minutes' walk from Concha, offers more than 15 kinds of massage, hot tub baths and foot spa treatments. The itacare.com.br guide lists it as open daily from 16:00, by appointment on +55 73 3142-0377. Call ahead to check availability (checked October 2026). ## A plan for a wet day 1. Class on the deck at 8:00 or 9:30, with rain on the roof. 2. A slow breakfast, then a short walk to Rua Pituba. 3. Chocolate and coffee at Vila Rosa or Café com Cacau. 4. If the rain keeps up, a cacao farm tour; if it stops, the beach. 5. A massage in the late afternoon, booked ahead. ## When the rain stops If the sky clears, Praia da Concha is a few minutes' walk from the deck.
