Remote work in Itacaré: Wi-Fi, power cuts and a morning routine

Yes, you can. Itacaré has fibre internet, averaging 122 Mbps in user speed tests in 2026, though speeds vary from street to street. The power does go out now and then, usually when a storm brings a tree down on the lines, so plan a backup.

Internet: fibre and speeds

Itacaré has local fibre providers. In the Minha Conexão ranking updated in October 2026, built from user speed tests over the previous three months, the average fibre speed in town was 122 Mbps. The two providers with the best averages were Inforbarra Telecom (204.67 Mbps) and Conect Telecom (134.17 Mbps). By neighbourhood, Pituba came in at 143 Mbps.

Those are averages, and every house is different. Before you book a place, ask the host:

  • which provider they use, and whether it is fibre;
  • for a screenshot of a speed test taken in the room, not at reception;
  • whether the router is close to where you will work.

If you are staying for months and want a line in your own name, providers check availability by address.

Mobile data

Signal varies a lot by operator and by street. Anatel, Brazil's telecoms regulator, runs a public coverage panel that shows which operators and technologies are present in each municipality. Look before you come, and ask your host which operator gets a good signal at the house. A SIM from a different operator than the house internet makes a handy backup hotspot.

Power cuts

The power drops from time to time, most often because a tree has fallen on the lines after heavy rain. A recent example: in February 2026, Vila Camboinha, in the municipality of Itacaré, lost power from the afternoon of the 25th until the early hours of the 27th, when Neoenergia Coelba reported fallen trees on the network.

What helps:

  • laptop and phone charged before any call that matters;
  • a charged power bank;
  • your phone hotspot ready to go, since the house router goes off with the power;
  • asking your host whether the house has a generator or a UPS.

To see whether an outage is only at your house or across the area, Neoenergia Coelba has a live supply page (Energia em Tempo Real). To report a cut, call 116 or message (71) 3370-6350 on WhatsApp.

Coworking

We could not find a coworking space in Itacaré confirmed open in 2026. In practice, plan to work from where you stay, and choose the house for its desk, chair and connection as much as for the view.

Time zone

Itacaré runs on Brasília time, three hours behind UTC. The federal government decided against daylight saving for 2026 and 2027, so the clocks stay put for that stretch. That makes fixed meetings with people abroad easier to plan.

A morning routine around class

Classes on the deck run 60 minutes (90 on Saturday) and fit before the heavy part of the working day.

Monday, Wednesday and Friday: Power Vinyasa, 8:00 to 9:00. Saturday: 8:00 to 9:30. One way to set it up:

  1. 7:00: clear what came in overnight.
  2. 7:40: head to the deck, at Rua Bromélia, 11, Bairro Concha.
  3. 8:00 to 9:00: class (until 9:30 on Saturday).
  4. Breakfast, then your first focus block around 10:00.

On the first Saturday of the month, class ends with a sound bath. Saturday's class fills first, so if you want a weekend session, book it early in the week.

Tuesday and Thursday: Yoga Sculpt, 9:30 to 10:30. Here the focus block comes first: work 7:00 to 9:00, go to class, and keep meetings for the afternoon.

The deck is covered and open air, under the trees. If heavy rain changes anything, it goes out on WhatsApp and Instagram before class. Mats, blocks and hand weights are on the deck; bring water and a towel.

Monthly plans for longer stays

If you are here for months, a monthly plan usually works out better than single classes. Resident plans run from once a week to unlimited, with a two-month minimum. The figures are on prices, and each class's times are on classes. Classes take up to 10 people, so book ahead.
