Your first visit

Everything you would otherwise have to ask on WhatsApp.

Where it is

Rua Bromélia, 11, on the deck at Pousada Tikuna, Bairro Concha. A few minutes uphill from Praia da Concha. Open air, under the trees.

What to bring

Water, a towel, and something you can move in. Mats and blocks are at the deck.

How booking works

Reserve a spot on the calendar, then pay at the deck. Nothing is charged online.

Which language

English, Portuguese or both, depending on the group.

Arrive, move, rest

Uphill from Praia da Concha, past the clay tiles, onto the wood. Leave your shoes at the step. The sea is still louder than anyone here.

Breath tied to a sequence, or weights in your hands, depending on the day. The teacher speaks whichever language the mats on the deck need.

I have never done yoga. Can I come?

Yes. Power Vinyasa and Yoga Sculpt are both taught with options, called out loud as the class goes. Students in the reviews describe arriving as complete beginners. Tell the teacher before class and they will keep an eye on you.

Do I have to join a group?

No. There is no fixed group and no term to sign up for. Come to any class, any week, as often as you like. A pack works for every class in the week.

Do I need to book, or can I turn up?

Book. The deck takes eight people and Saturday regularly fills. Reserving takes a minute on the calendar and holds your place. If a class is full, write on WhatsApp.

How do I pay?

At the deck: card or cash. Single classes, packs and monthly plans are all settled there.

Will the teacher touch me during class?

Only if you want it. Adjustments are by hand, differently for every body. At the start of class, with everyone's eyes closed, the teacher asks: a small sign says no, and nobody else sees it.

Is the class filmed?

Sometimes, for Instagram, and always as the whole group, never one person up close. If you would rather not be in it, give the teacher a sign at the start, the same way.

What should I bring?

Water, a towel, and clothes you can move in. Mats, blocks and the weights for Yoga Sculpt are all at the deck.

Is the class in English or Portuguese?

English, Portuguese or both, depending on the group.

What if it rains?

Part of the deck is covered, so a rainy morning is often a good yoga morning. In heavy rain, any change goes out on WhatsApp and Instagram before class.

How do I find it?

Rua Bromélia, 11, at Pousada Tikuna, Bairro Concha. It is a short walk uphill from Praia da Concha. The map link below opens the exact spot.

I am here for a week. What makes sense?

The Visitor Pack: four classes for R$220, used within 14 days. It is cheaper than four drop-ins and has no commitment. Monthly plans are the locals' price and start with two months.

I surf. Which class?

Power Vinyasa on Monday, Wednesday or Friday for mobility and breath after a session, and Yoga Sculpt on Tuesday or Thursday, which suits the flat days.
